The Atrium C-Qur Mesh is made of a flexible polypropylene material with an absorbable layer. The O3FA layer is made of Omega-3 fatty acids and triglycerides that begins to break down once the mesh has been put in place. The original design of the mesh allows it to move with the body, following the fascia as you move. There are several Atrium C-QUR lawsuits on file that are the results of the mesh malfunctioning in some way.
Approved Uses for Atrium C-QUR Mesh
Because of the flexibility of the Atrium C-QUR mesh material, it could be used for soft tissue in many areas of the body. It was approved by the FDA for use in chest wall reconstruction, the surgical repairs to the fascia, hernia repair, and surgical or trauma wounds, among others. The mesh is made of a soft polypropylene material that allows it to remain extremely flexible. The fascia that lies between the tissues of the body is also extremely mobile. When using the Atrium Q-CUR mesh, placing it along the fascia supports the soft structures of the body and allows the tissues to move freely without obstructing one another.
List of Complications
Over time, it has been proven that the Atrium C-QUR mesh can begin to degrade limiting its ability to function properly. Although it works well when first put in place in terms of preventing adhesions and scar tissue, once it begins to degrade it can shift unexpectedly or cause the tissues to begin to stick together. This can eventually lead to gastric ulcers, perforation of the organs and soft tissues, as well an increased risk of infection. Several of these complications have been listed in Atrium C-QUR lawsuits.
Extreme pain, discomfort, fever, inflammation, and other signs of infection or trauma may all be present with the Atrium C-QUR mesh begins to break down. Many of the symptoms that appear may not seem to have a direct cause. If you have had a surgical procedure in which the mesh was used in any way to support soft tissue or during a reconstruction procedure, you should immediately notify your doctor if you begin to have any of the symptoms with no apparent cause.
